1. Am I a Church Planter?

  1. There is a pre-assessment process that a prospective church planter goes through.  Much of this is outlined at www.greatlakes.cc under “Church Planting”
  2. This process can take a while because it entails personal interview, on-line testing, etc.  Once a candidate is “green-lighted” from the pre-assessment process, then:
  • Invitation to the ECC Assessment Center for candidate and Spouse.  This is a 4 day event.
  • If the Candidate is recommended to plant an ECC church, then:
    • Attend Church Planter Training.  A 4-day national event.
    • Work on your Strategic Ministry Plan which will include the vision/mission/core values of the church, parent or partner churches, gathering and growing strategies, financial plan, etc.
    • Once that is in place a Covenant Agreement can begin – subject to adequate funding from the ECC and GLC.

3. Biblically Rooted Vision, Mission and Values for your Church (3-4 hours)

Every business can talk about their vision statement.  Even the movie Jerry Maguire talked about it.  But since the church is built on Christ and needs a Biblical Foundation, this workshop starts with the Seed Verse that God has placed on the heart of the leaders for this specific church.

Based on this seed verse, the workshop assists leaders in developing:

  1. Their Vision – a picture of the God-imagined future of the church 10+ years out.
  2. Their Mission – the key way that that church will move from where they are toward the vision.
  3. Their Core Values – 3-8 key components that act like DNA in the church that will replicate themselves over-and-over in the ministries and lives of the members of the church.
